After both having extra time off, the South Salem Saxons and the Sprague Olympians will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Salem is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Wednesday, South Salem got the win against McNary by a conclusive 3-0.
South Salem was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12, 25-21.
South Salem can attribute much of their success to Avery Axmaker, who had 15 digs and three aces. With that strong performance, Axmaker is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game.
Meanwhile, Sprague had just enough and edged West Salem out 3-2 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Olympians.
Sprague had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-19, 15-11.
