Basketball Game Preview: Hemphill Hornets vs. Woden Eagles

Hemphill hasn't had much luck against Woden recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hemphill Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Woden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Hemphill had to suffer through a 74-32 loss at the hands of Chireno. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1297th, while the Owls are ranked 191st).

Meanwhile, Woden was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 44-38 to Shelbyville.

This is the second loss in a row for Hemphill and nudges their season record down to 4-17. As for Woden, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Hemphill came up short against Woden in their previous meeting on January 7th, falling 40-30. Can Hemphill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
