Baseball Game Preview: Bonita Bearcats vs. Walnut Mustangs

For the second straight game, Bonita will face off against Walnut. The Bearcats will venture away from home to challenge the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bonita has four straight wins, Walnut has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, Bonita earned an 8-4 victory over Walnut.

Bonita got a great performance from Daniel Nageer as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Dominic Garcia was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Parker Alexander also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bonita kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Bonita, their record now sits at 12-7.
