Baseball Recap: Baxter Springs Takes a Loss

Baxter Springs managed to slip by Girard the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Trojans on Wednesday, falling 6-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Baxter Springs has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Girard, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-6-1.

As of now, neither Baxter Springs nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
