Baseball Recap: East Ridge Comes Up Short

East Ridge and Freedom squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but East Ridge had to settle for second. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

East Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephen Pineda, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

East Ridge has also been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Freedom, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-13.

East Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Freedom, they will face off against Windermere at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
