Baseball Recap: Crooms Academy Takes a Loss

Crooms Academy lost against Windermere Prep back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aiden Marcialis was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Marcialis wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Parker Buckley, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Crooms Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Windermere Prep, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crooms Academy will face off against Circle Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Centurions have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Windermere Prep, they will square off against Bishop Moore at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
