It was a good run, but Lovejoy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Walnut Grove Wildcats. The shutout was out of character for the Leopards seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Lovejoy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 25-20.

Leading Walnut Grove to victory were Lauren Aguilar and Maleah Evans. Aguilar had 17 digs and three assists, while Evans had 25 assists and eight digs. That's the most digs Aguilar has posted since back in August.

Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 27-11. As for Walnut Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 29-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lovejoy will challenge rival McKinney North at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Walnut Grove is set to take on their familiar foe Sherman at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
