Football Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Heritage faced off against Martin County on Friday. The Panthers fell 19-14 to the Tigers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Heritage dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Martin County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will host Melbourne Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will be up against the Hustlers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Martin County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Jensen Beach at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 10.9, the Falcons 9) so any points scored will be well earned.
