After a string of four wins, Stonington's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Wheeler Lions by a score of 5-4. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jacob Schrage was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Ogden, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Stonington's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Wheeler, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Stonington is taking a road trip to take on Ledyard at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Colonels will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wheeler, they will face off against New London at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
