Baseball Recap: East Chambers Buccaneers vs. Orangefield Bobcats

East Chambers had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 10-14 to make it five. They fell just short of the Orangefield Bobcats by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 back in March.

As for Orangefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Orangefield's part, Cole Sanches made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave Sanches a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Sanches wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kale Spears, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As of now, neither East Chambers nor Orangefield have any future games scheduled.
