Basketball Recap: Mikayla Wall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Smithville over Caledonia

Smithville lost against Caledonia last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Smithville Seminoles fell 41-31 to the Caledonia Cavaliers.

Several Seminoles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mikayla Wall, who posted eight points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Hass, who earned 14 points and six rebounds.

Smithville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Caledonia, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Smithville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-41 loss against Oak Hill Academy on the 19th. As for Caledonia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-27 win against Hamilton on the 19th.
