Pearce and Richardson are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Pearce Mustangs will welcome the Richardson Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Pearce got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Richardson by a score of 11-7 on Monday. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Eagles on their field since March 31, 2017.
Pearce let Taylor Kesler and Ashlyn Yarbrough run wild. Kesler went 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Yarbrough scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Kesler a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Falk, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Richardson's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-12. As for Pearce, their win bumped their record up to 4-11-1.
