League recap: Ralls climbs in state rankings with win

1A-2 Region I District 4 recap Oct. 9, 2012

Ralls moved up to 719 from 767 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A-2 Region I District 4. The Jack Rabbits climbed the ranks as a result of a 26-0 win over Bovina.

Plains led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Plains.

Smyer's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bobcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. BobbyJoe Boggs has thrown for 269 yards this season, while Brennen Fowler has 10 catches for 130 yards. Xavier Lozano leads the league in rushing with 259 yards.

A big matchup in 1A-2 Region I District 4 this week will be when Seagraves takes on Ralls. The Eagles are currently in sixth, while Tim James' team is in first.

The Jack Rabbits made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,569 from 8,177. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 26-0 victory over the Mustangs last week.
