Basketball Game Preview: St. Paul Wildcats vs. Centura Centurions

The St. Paul Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Centura Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Paul has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with eight straight losses, while Centura will come in with five straight victories.

St. Paul is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Centura on Tuesday. St. Paul took a 40-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Centura.

Centura found their leader in freshman Taya Taukiuvea, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Taukiuvea has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jenna Fanta, who posted seven points and four steals.

Centura smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Centura pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28 points. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
