Flag Football Recap: University Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Irvine Vaqueros on Wednesday as they made off with a 32-6 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Among those leading the charge was Carson Cruz, who threw for 211 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.1% of her passes. What's more, she racked up 105.8 passer rating, the most she's had since back in September.

Another reason for the win was University's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Ella Carmichael with three.

University is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Irvine, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-17.
