Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Takes a Loss

Cornerstone Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of Torrington Christian Academy. The contest marked Cornerstone Christian's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Torrington Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Maddie Sattazahn, who went 7-for-13 en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Sattazahn a new career-high in boards. Alexa Johnston was another key player, putting up ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Cornerstone Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Torrington Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Cornerstone Christian nor Torrington Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
