Baseball Recap: Dibble Comes Up Short

Dibble extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 13-14. They came up short against the Coalgate Wildcats, falling 11-0. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

As for Coalgate, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-12. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

For Coalgate's part, Colby Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Brown also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Coalgate is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kado Pebworth, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jase Burris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dibble will face off against Colbert at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Leopards' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Demons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Coalgate, they will challenge Dickson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
