Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist School Hurricanes vs. Northwood Academy Chargers

First Baptist School hasn't had much luck against Northwood Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The First Baptist School Hurricanes will take on the Northwood Academy Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with First Baptist School sitting on 11 straight wins and Northwood Academy on six.

First Baptist School is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Military Magnet Academy, who was ranked 24th at the time (First Baptist School was ranked 19th). First Baptist School took down Military Magnet Academy 69-51 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Northwood Academy strolled past Porter-Gaud with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 51-32.

Northwood Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for First Baptist School, they pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

First Baptist School strolled past Northwood Academy when the teams last played back in January by a score of 61-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for First Baptist School since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
