Madison Central hasn't had much luck against Male recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Madison Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kentucky's top teams: Frederick Douglass, who was ranked 16th at the time (Madison Central was ranked 14th). The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Broncos on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by just one run.

Brooklyn Guilbault was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lina Guerra, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Male and Assumption, and Male kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs won by a run and slipped past the Rockets 6-5.
The team relied heavily on Kaylee Brooks, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Kaden Nelson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Male's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Madison Central, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Madison Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Male struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Madison Central might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Male in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
