Baseball Game Preview: Plainfield Panthers vs. Ledyard Colonels

The Plainfield Panthers will square off against the Ledyard Colonels at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainfield has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Plainfield came up short against Norwich RVT on Monday, falling 13-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Plainfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tony Navan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Ledyard might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-3 to Stonington, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Colonels in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.

Jeff Duerr and Carson Luther stepped up to the plate in a big way. Duerr scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Luther went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ledyard, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.
