Softball Recap: Lassen Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lassen can now relate to. They came up short against the Gridley Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 18-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Grizzlies have suffered since April 26th.

Annalyn Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

The defeat snapped Lassen's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 19-10 record. As for Gridley, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Lassen has already played their next game, a 9-7 victory against West Valley on the 22nd. Hopefully Gridley paid attention to the Grizzlies' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Grizzlies at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
