League recap: Azle Christian extends winning streak with victory over Nazarene Christian Academy

TCAF District 3 (6 Man) recap November 13, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in TCAF District 3 (6 Man) this week, Azle Christian beat Nazarene Christian Academy 68-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Fighting Crusaders.

Azle Christian took down the Lions 68-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Fighting Crusaders' Joey Rosamond and Jake Bartell have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-7 quarterback Rosamond has thrown for 2,895 yards this season, while Bartell has 63 catches for 1,129 yards. Community Christian's Levi Knowles leads the league in rushing yards with 1,391.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Azle Christian takes on second place Trinity Christian. Azle Christian topped Nazarene Christian Academy last week, while Trinity Christian beat Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Josh Crawford of the the Fighting Crusaders is only 25 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 93 carries Crawford has accumulated 975 yard this year.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Azle Christian's Bartell goes up against Jeff Anderson's team's Geren Rangel.

Next week's game between the Fighting Crusaders and Trinity Christian will feature an aerial matchup as Rosamond tests his arm against Rangel's defensive ability.

The league will see a high scoring game when Trinity Christian and Azle Christian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Trinity Christian comes in having scored 612 this season, while the Fighting Crusaders have scored 667. Trinity Christian scored 73 points last week as it bested Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Trinity Christian made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 445 from 518. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 73-66 victory over Cornerstone Christian Academy last week.
