Basketball Recap: Malakhi Sabb Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New London, Fitch was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 67-66 loss the last time these two teams met.

Fitch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malakhi Sabb, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Carlos Ryhmer Hernandez was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Fitch's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Norwich Free Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fitch will challenge Ledyard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Norwich Free Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Griswold at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
