Volleyball Recap: Franklin Falls Despite Big Games from Karen Castro and Lexie Shobert + How To Watch

Franklin suffered their biggest defeat since September 26, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against the Lathrop Spartans, falling 3-0. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-15.

Lexie Shobert and Karen Castro certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Shobert had eight digs and three aces, while Castro had 25 digs and one assist. Castro has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Leading Lathrop to victory were Sariah Hilton and Jadore Dixon. Hilton had 13 assists and six aces, while Dixon had five aces and one assist.

Franklin now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Lathrop, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Franklin will take on Chavez at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lathrop, they will square off against Los Banos at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
