Volleyball Game Preview: Haddam-Killingworth Cougars vs. Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils

The Haddam-Killingworth Cougars will head out to take on the Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 15 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Haddam-Killingworth and eight for Coginchaug Regional.

On Monday, Haddam-Killingworth didn't have quite enough to beat Morgan and fell 3-2. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 25-13 in the first set.

Haddam-Killingworth took Morgan into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-11, 18-25, 25-16, 15-12.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayden Olaniyi, who had six digs and five aces. Another player making a difference was Juliette Harriman, who had 16 assists and five digs.

Meanwhile, Coginchaug Regional lost 3-0 to North Branford on Monday.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-10.

Coginchaug Regional's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Haddam-Killingworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
