Basketball Game Preview: Regis Jesuit Raiders vs. Valor Christian Eagles

Regis Jesuit is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Mountain Vista, who was ranked seventh at the time (Regis Jesuit was ranked ninth). Regis Jesuit was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 56-55 to Mountain Vista. The Raiders have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Valor Christian came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their matchup with ease, bagging an 83-30 victory over the Tigers. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Valor Christian pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for Regis Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Regis Jesuit came up short against Valor Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 67-61. Can Regis Jesuit avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
