Baseball Recap: Lower Lake Trojans vs. Cloverdale Eagles
Lower Lake was the 2-1 winner over Cloverdale when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Zach Jones and Luke Campbell put in work while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jones pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Meanwhile, Campbell tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Jones gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April. At the plate, Jones went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Campbell went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple was Jones' first of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Hartman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
