Softball Game Preview: Tatum Eagles vs. Gladewater Bears

The Tatum Eagles will square off against the Gladewater Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tatum has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Tatum fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Gladewater on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 11-10. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Noa Cart spent all 8.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and four unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 12 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Camryn Milam made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Parsons, who went 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Milam wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Tatum kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Gladewater's win bumped their record up to 6-9-1. As for Tatum, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
