Volleyball Recap: Avon Park Takes a Loss

The Avon Park Red Devils came up short against Tampa Bay HEAT on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avon Park was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22.

Tampa Bay HEAT found their leader in freshman Kinslee Walker, who had 23 digs and one assist. Walker is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Avon Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tampa Bay HEAT, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Avon Park will challenge Frostproof at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Red Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Tampa Bay HEAT, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Universal Academy on the 25th.
