Baseball Game Preview: Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles vs. Eastern Hancock Royals

Cambridge City Lincoln is 0-3 against Eastern Hancock since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will take on the Royals at 5:30 p.m. Cambridge City Lincoln has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Cambridge City Lincoln after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 12-2 to Knightstown. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evan Stuckey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Eastern Hancock hadn't done well against Blackford recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Royals came out on top against the Bruins by a score of 9-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.

Brennan Noah looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five contests.

On the hitting side, Kolt Wilson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Eastern Hancock's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-14-1 when he doesn't). Mason Roberts was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Cambridge City Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Eastern Hancock, their record is now 8-14-1.

Cambridge City Lincoln came up short against Eastern Hancock in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, falling 13-10. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
