Sequoia Pathway Academy suffers eighth straight loss at home

Recap: Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas vs. Tempe Prep Knights

This season hasn't been kind to the Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were beaten by Tempe Prep 60-12 on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sequoia Pathway Academy in their matchups with Tempe Prep: they've now lost four in a row.

It was another big night for Austin Sampson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, nine assists, and 12 steals for Tempe Prep. Sampson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cyalan Cotton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Sequoia Pathway Academy's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Tempe Prep, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathway Academy will take on St. Augustine Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tempe Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chandler Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chandler Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Tempe Prep likes a good challenge.
