Basketball Game Preview: Smith Valley Bulldogs vs. Coleville Wolves

The Smith Valley Bulldogs and the Coleville Wolves will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Smith Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Coleville likes a good challenge.

Smith Valley's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Thursday, when they got past Virginia City's usually-dominant defense. Smith Valley strolled past Virginia City with points to spare, taking the game 63-44.

Meanwhile, Coleville played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Pyramid Lake, falling 73-39. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-25.

Smith Valley's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Coleville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Everything came up roses for Smith Valley against Coleville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 61-32 win. Does Smith Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coleville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
