Baseball Recap: Plymouth Has No Trouble Against Wawasee

Plymouth won the last time they faced Wawasee and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pilgrims/Rockies blew past the Warriors 7-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pilgrims/Rockies.

Preston Wolfe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other pitching news, Aiden Landis looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Drake Feece, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker Wolfe, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Plymouth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Plymouth back to even at 7-7. As for Wawasee, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Plymouth will be playing at home against Triton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pilgrims/Rockies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Wawasee, they will head out to take on Goshen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
