Basketball Game Preview: Deer Lakes Lancers vs. Burrell Bucs

The Deer Lakes Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Burrell Bucs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Deer Lakes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Burrell likes a good challenge.

Deer Lakes took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Valley, posting a 63-36 win.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 65 points the game before, Burrell was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 53-20 loss at the hands of Knoch. The matchup marked the Bucs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Burrell and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Deer Lakes, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything went Deer Lakes' way against Burrell in their previous matchup back in January, as Deer Lakes made off with a 71-49 win. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Bucs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
