Gretna East fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Elkhorn North on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 81-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elkhorn North. One positive for the Griffins, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Bennington came up short against Norris on Saturday and fell 73-66. The loss continues a trend for the Badgers in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost four in a row.

Gretna East will have to contain Austin Kaiser as he made an impact in Bennington's last game. He went 12 for 22 on his way to 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Olson, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Bennington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Gretna East, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Gretna East was able to grind out a solid victory over Bennington in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 68-59. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Olson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards.
