Skyline hasn't had much luck against Kettle Run recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawks will head out to challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Skyline comes in on nine and Kettle Run on seven.

Skyline is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They slipped by Culpeper County 14-13.

Zayden Burks had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 124 rushing yards.

Skyline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Lehew and Silas Wilson. Skyline got some further help from Andre Ford: he made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defended two passes.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kettle Run duked it out with Brentsville District on Friday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 35-12 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Cougars have won eight contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Carter Lubbe and Jonathan Taylor. Lubbe rushed for 129 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry while Taylor rushed for 70 yards and one score.

Kettle Run was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 287 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

Skyline's record now sits at 9-3. As for Kettle Run, their record is now 11-1.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Burks and Lubbe. Burks just won't slow down this season and has run in 26 touchdowns while averaging 221.1 rushing yards per game. Lubbe has been a dominant force too and has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 75 rushing yards per game.

Skyline was taken down by Kettle Run 36-0 in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
