Football Recap: Topsail Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Topsail extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were outmatched by the Croatan Cougars and fell 49-7. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

As for Croatan, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 54.5 points this season.

Andrew Boucher had a dynamite game, rushing for 124 yards and three TDs, while also picking up 38 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Kannon McBride, who threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Topsail will challenge Northside - Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Croatan, they will take on Southwest Onslow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
