It was a Battle of the Birds when Northeast took on Severna Park on Thursday. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 3-0 shutout. Give the Eagles' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Severna Park's batters probably weren't too happy with Presley McGinty, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk). McGinty has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brynn Jones was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Severna Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast will head out to take on Southern at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.62 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Severna Park, they will venture away from home to face off against Annapolis at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
