Saxony Lutheran gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Collinsville Kahoks by a score of 3-1. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Kahoks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (92-91) Saxony Lutheran actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-19.

Jonathan Palmer paced Saxony Lutheran's offense, picking up 13 kills. Palmer really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 15. He was also a major player on defense: he and Brayden Zoellner shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Saxony Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Father McGivney Catholic on the 28th. As for Collinsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Granite City on the 27th.
