Softball Game Preview: Somerset Briar Jumpers vs. Lexington Christian Eagles

The Somerset Briar Jumpers will venture away from home to square off against the Lexington Christian Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Somerset will be strutting in after a victory while Lexington Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

While Somerset didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Glasgow by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Briar Jumpers.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lexington Christian's offense. They lost 16-0 to Paul Laurence Dunbar on Wednesday. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Lexington Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Somerset, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Somerset beat Lexington Christian 11-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Will the Briar Jumpers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
