Volleyball Recap: Regis Groff Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Regis Groff walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Fusion sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Regis Groff was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 25-15.

Eamon McKim paced Regis Groff's offense, picking up ten kills. McKim got some help from Jayden Flores and his 19 assists. Ellis Afrifa controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Regis Groff's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Regis Groff and Thomas MacLaren School will both be playing Eagle Ridge Academy the next time they take the court. The Highlanders will head out to face the Warriors at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Fusion will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
