Baseball Recap: Dutch Fork Triumphs

While Dutch Fork's win against Brookland-Cayce wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Silver Foxes skirted past the Bearcats 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Silver Foxes in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won five in a row.

Boone Miller tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dutch Fork's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Coleman Fryer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Dutch Fork's record now sits at 15-5. As for Brookland-Cayce, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
