Football Game Preview: Fort Bend Kempner Cougars vs. Angleton Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Fort Bend Kempner Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Angleton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Kempner has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Angleton will come in with seven straight victories.

Fort Bend Kempner's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Crosby on Thursday. They were dealt a 57-0 loss at the hands of Crosby. The game marked the first time this season in which Fort Bend Kempner was not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Angleton took on Kingwood Park on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Panthers 67-13. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Fort Bend Kempner better keep an eye on Wyatt Neyland. He was instrumental in Angleton's win, rushing for 181 yards and two scores on only nine carries. Neyland's longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Bryce Duron, who threw for 211 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Angleton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 400 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Fort Bend Kempner now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Angleton, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Fort Bend Kempner was taken down by Angleton 59-6 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 31-6.
