Recap: Perry County Vikings vs. Collinwood Trojans
The Perry County Vikings were the 44-35 winner over the Collinwood Trojans when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. Perry County fell just short of Collinwood by a score of 46-44. Perry County just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Kaylee Byrd and Cianna Wilson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Byrd scored 19 points, while Wilson dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddi Wright, who scored three points along with five assists.
Perry County dropped their record down to 9-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Collinwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hughes the next time they take the court. Perry County will host Hughes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Collinwood will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
