Recap: Satellite Scorpions vs. Cocoa Beach Minutemen
There's no place like home for the Satellite Scorpions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They strolled past Cocoa Beach with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 53-35. This was payback for Satellite, who suffered a 42-33 loss the last time these two teams met.
Sydney Logsdon was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 18 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madeline Bishop, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Cocoa Beach still got an impressive performance from Baylea Holland, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Holland scored 15 or more points. Lexie Overdorf was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Satellite's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Cocoa Beach, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satellite will take on Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cocoa Beach, they will head out on the road to challenge Pineapple Cove Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
