Football Recap: St. Mary's Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Mount St. Joseph

St. Mary faced Mount St. Joseph in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Saints walked away with a 20-7 win over the Gaels. The victory was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jamal Epps was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 60 yards and two scores.

St. Mary's didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Thomas Will, Dominic Scali, and Anai Day picked up one apiece. Scali got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Mary's record is now 6-3. As for Mount St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Coming up, St. Mary's will look to defend their home field on Friday against Severn School at 7:00 p.m. As for Mount St. Joseph, they will head out to square off against Archbishop Spalding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gaels will need to watch out since the Cavaliers have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.
