Basketball Recap: Horizon Piles Up the Points Against Paradise Valley

A well-balanced attack led Horizon over Paradise Valley in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Horizon Huskies blew the Paradise Valley Trojans out of the water with a 54-21 final score. That looming 54-21 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Huskies yet this season.

Horizon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Olson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Olson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played. Paisy Perkins was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 boards.

Horizon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests.

Horizon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Paradise Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Horizon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-48 victory against Notre Dame Prep on the 21st. Paradise Valley has also already played their next contest, a 49-25 win against Youngker on the 21st.
