Baseball Recap: Hudson Falls Comes Up Short

Hudson Falls had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-8 to make it 15. They fell 5-0 to the Schuylerville Horses. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Horses this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Wednesday.

As for Schuylerville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Schuylerville's part, not much got past Jack Boden, who gave up just three hits to keep Hudson Falls off the board. Boden has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Palmer, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Reilly, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Hudson Falls has already played their next match, a 5-3 loss against Amsterdam on the 7th. As for Schuylerville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Glens Falls on the 7th.
