Preview: Valdosta Wildcats vs. Colquitt County Packers
Two dominant players in Nadia Gardner and Amira Walters- Smith are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Valdosta Wildcats and the Colquitt County Packers will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Valdosta is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, Valdosta had to suffer through a rough 60-28 loss at the hands of the Vikings. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valdosta has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Colquitt County put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bainbridge 55-21 on the road. Given Colquitt County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Bearcats are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Valdosta's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Colquitt County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-4.
