Softball Game Preview: Central Magnet vs. Tullahoma Wildcats

Central Magnet will head out to square off against the Tullahoma Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central Magnet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Central Magnet barely beat Cannon County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Central Magnet put the hurt on Cannon County with a sharp 16-4 victory on Wednesday. Central Magnet hasn't had any issues with Cannon County recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Central Magnet let Sophia Croasdaile and Megan Weber run wild. Croasdaile scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Weber went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Weber hit this season. Another player making a difference was Samarah Odell, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Central Magnet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Tullahoma's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 15-5 to Giles County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since March 12th.

Madison Goad stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played. Addyson Norman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Central Magnet's record is now 6-8. As for Tullahoma, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Central Magnet suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Tullahoma when the teams last played back in March. Can Central Magnet avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
